10.2.2023 Weekly Principal's Message

Hello October!

I want to remind you all that this is the last week of the 1st quarter. (School is flying by so far!) All assignments need to be turned in by this Friday in order to receive credit on the 1st quarter report card.  Remember, students who want to try out for upcoming sports seasons (like basketball), may not have any F’s on their quarter report cards.  You can help check your student’s grades by logging into the Aeries Parent Portal or having your student show you their Aeries Student Portal.  If you have questions, please contact your student’s teacher whose class you are concerned about.  Also, next week is Intersession Break. There is no school from October 9th to October 13th.  Have a great week!

A note about PE clothes as the weather cools: Students can wear sweatshirts or sweatpants that aren’t part of our PE gear if needed.  They are to have their core shorts and t-shirts, but they don’t have to purchase school logo sweats. Any warm clothes will suffice.

Leadership Water Bottle Competition Update: Thank you for your support in supplying water bottles for this year’s events!  Mr. Hart’s homeroom class won the ice cream sundae party with a total of 513 water bottles collected!  As a school, 1,461 water bottles were brought in to get us through events like dances, sporting events, field day, etc. Again, THANK YOU, families!

Sports Update: Volleyball has a game in Upper Lake today and at home this Wednesday, Oct. 4th.

Golf practice has started and the first match is TODAY at Adams Springs Golf Course.  Thank you Coach Michael for getting our golfers going! Students have been excitedly dropping off clubs in the office in anticipation of today’s match. Good luck!

Introduction to Martial Arts Information: This event has been canceled due to low participation.  We are working with Dan Tyrrell to gather more interest for another event.

Mrs. Jessen & the MMS Drama Department are in need of parents with skills &  talents in construction and/or woodworking to help build the set for our fall play.  If you are willing and able to contribute advice, assistance, or supplies to help build the set, please contact Mrs. Jessen at joleen.jessen@middletownusd.org.
