Happy Monday Bronco Families,

Thank you so much for moving through the first week of school in such a positive way with us! The MMS team thought that orientation was successful for both grade levels, but we would love to hear feedback that you have so that we can plan for any improvements next year!  Please click here to give us constructive feedback. Thank you in advance.

MMS is a closed campus. This means that once a student arrives on campus (whether car, bus or walking), they are to remain on campus for the remainder of the school day, unless checked out by an authorized adult. Students may not stay after school from 2:30-3:20 while the high school is in session unless with a supervising teacher. Please have a plan for where your student is going when school is released. This is noted in the student agenda as well. Thank you for your cooperation, as we do not have full time supervision after student hours.

Chromebooks at MMS this year have changed.  I don’t think that I communicated this well during orientation and for that, I am super sorry.  Each classroom has a chromebook cart with chromebooks charging in it.  The point of this switch was to keep chromebooks charged and in good condition for use on class assignments and last year they were often coming back broken or uncharged. Chromebooks are not being checked out to every student on campus this year, but on a NEED basis only.  We only have about 25 extra Chromebooks that are available for check out and to be used at home only (they are not to come to school at all).  We have about 235 students.  That is why this is determined by need.  In the case that your student has no other technology to use at home for homework needs that pop up, you may come into the office and see me. Thank you for understanding this new process.

One change: Attendance (tardies, absence notes, etc) for MHS students is now done with Teri Langford in the MHS office.  MMS students will come to the MMS office for attendance purposes and see Krystal Clark. If your student is absent, please call (707-987-4160) or email (krystal.clark@middletownusd.org) to let us know so that we can clear their absence in our system.

MMS Sports Update:  Currently, we have 7th and 8th grade volleyball and a golf coaching position posted on EdJoin. They close tomorrow and we have applicants for volleyball, but not golf yet.  If you know a golf guru, please let them know! There is a meeting this week to update our AD on game schedules.  Middle school sports do not start as soon as high school sports, so thankfully we aren’t too behind in this process. Students interested in playing volleyball or joining the golf team may sign up in the office.

Speaking of sports, please know that the Sports Boosters also support our middle school programs, not just high school.  They would love any parents that want to help and join them in raising money to support all of our programs.  We are so fortunate to have this group of involved parents in our community.  They have a meeting tonight at 6pm in room 7 at MHS.
