Band for Middle School students is not in the 'wheel class' electives; it is for the full school year. It's a continuing program from the elementary school, or another band program if a student comes from another school. If a student wishes to participate that has not in the past, they may contact Mrs. Jekel for an audition.

For more information, please visit the District's Band website:

► Responsibility. You need to come to class prepared each day, and with all required materials (music, instrument, pencil, etc.)

► Accountability. Students must be accountable for their own practice time. The care of their instrument and music, and dedicated rehearsing are paramount of the success of the band.

► Respect. All students will respect themselves, each other, the teacher, the classroom, the music, the instruments, and personal belongings.

Participation. Band is a wonderful program. It takes dedication, time management, and perseverance. Rehearsal class is required and it is expected that students be prepared and on-time. There is a winter and a spring concert each year.

Spring Concert: May 23rd

Please join us for our MMS/MHS Spring Band Concert on Thursday, May 23rd in the Multi-use Room! This free concert will highlight the talent and dedication of our young musicians and their passion for music.

Students and Parents:

Spring Concert

Just a reminder that our Spring Concert is scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at 7:00pm in the Multi-use Room. Students arrive at 6:15 for warm-up and tuning before the concert. Audience members are asked to wait until the doors open at 6:45 to enter. Concert dress is all black, or black & white.

Being in band is like being on a sports team, and concerts are like championship tournaments – participation is required, and very important for students to experience. It also acts as a final exam for band students. If you have an unavoidable conflict, please contact me as early as possible.
