Message from the Principal

Hello MMS Families,

We are about to complete our third week of school today and head into the Labor Day Weekend. I want to wish all our 4H and FFA students in the district the best of luck at the Lake County Fair this weekend. Our MMS volleyball teams are in full swing and we are looking forward to their first home game on September 26th. The students have been awesome and the teachers have been impressed with the their focus and commitment to their education. I am happy to report that their behavior has been outstanding and I see so many students being kind to each other.

I have started my ‘Reading with the Principal’ program, and we have started the book Wonder on Mondays in Mr. Coit’s classroom. This is a great book about empathy and living through the middle school experience. PLUS, it is going to be coming out in theaters in November! I really enjoy getting into the classroom and meeting our new seventh graders. I would like to give a big shout out and thank you to our Leadership students and Cia Dedmon (Librarian and Leadership Coach)… the Dress Code Rally was off the hook!

I hope to see everyone at ‘Back To School Night’ on Tuesday, September 6th. Leadership will have a Bake Sale starting at 5:15pm and then I will present a short speech at 5:30pm before everyone goes into classrooms. We are off to a great start and we are looking forward to a great year.
